Juvenile Shot at "After Prom" Party
On 04/10/2022, at approximately 0153 am, Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call of shots fired call at 825 E. Washburn Road, south of Waterloo. It was reported that there was a victim in the front yard that had been shot. Deputies learned that there was an "after prom" party at this location when a car on the roadway started shooting at guests that were in the yard. There were people in the yard that reportedly started shooting back. One person, a male juvenile, was shot in the leg and transported to Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo by private vehicle and transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. This person is expected to live. The incident is being investigated and future updates will be made when appropriate.
