Injuries in Crash at Dysart Rd / E Tama Rd
On April 12, 2023, at approximately 9:49 a.m., the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dysart Rd and E Tama Rd. An investigation determined that a Toyota Highlander driven by Debra Oliver (69) of Dysart was traveling westbound on E Tama Rd when she failed to yield to and struck a northbound Chevrolet Equinox driven by Leslie Sherrer (48) of Dysart. Oliver was transported to Mercy One Waterloo by private vehicle and Sherrer was transported by La Porte City Ambulance to Mercy One Waterloo, both with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. Oliver was issued a citation for failure to yield. The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Laporte City Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance.
