Driver Injured in Single Vehicle Crash
On November 16th, 2022, Black Hawk County Deputies and the Hudson Fire Department were dispatched to the area of mile marker 220 on Highway 20 for a single motor vehicle accident involving injury. Leonel Mejia-Lopez, age 26 of Coralville, was traveling westbound in a Kenworth company dump truck and lost control into the north side ditch. Roadway and weather conditions were unfavorable this early morning. Mejia-Lopez was transported by Hudson Ambulance to Mercy One Waterloo Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office was assisted additionally by the Grundy County Sheriff, Cedar Falls Public Safety, Iowa State Patrol, and Dike EMS.
