Driver Injured in Crash with Snowplow on Dysart Rd.
On January 19, 2023, at approximately 11:55 a.m., deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries at Dysart Road and Washburn Road. Austin Ludwig (25 years old) of Dysart was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup southbound on Dysart Road when he was struck by a 2008 Sterling - Black Hawk County Snow Plow headed west on Washburn Rd. Ludwig was transported by La Porte City Ambulance to MercyOne in Waterloo with non-life-threatening injuries. Lucas Gerholdt (28 years old) of Cedar Falls, who was driving the county snow plow was uninjured in the accident. Gerholdt was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at a Stop Sign. Black Hawk County Deputies were assisted by La Porte City Fire and Ambulance and Ray Mount Wrecker Service.
