Range / Training Facility

Construction began in the spring of 2010 on the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office's own Firearms Training Range.  The land for the range was acquired by the Sheriff through a lease agreement and with a great deal of help from various sponsors. With continuing support and development, the Range Training Facility is improving and adding training opportunities for State and Local law enforcement agencies.

Located near Raymond, Iowa our training center offers opportunity for a variety of training, including:

  • Presentation or seminar training in our advanced classrooms, offering Wi-Fi/Internet access, large screen projectors, and large seating capacity
  • Firearms training on our multi-station 50 yard and 100 yard ranges, with range control tower, and 25 yard open berm range.
  • Tactical training space on site
  • 3600 square foot live fire shoot house
  • Regional K9 training
  • Approximately 100 acres of woodland, open field, water (18 acres of lake), urban landscape, and live-fire range training facilities
  • Numerous other training options available on site
