Deputy of the Year 2017: Nicholas Stocks

Deputy Stocks

During the Black Hawk County Law Enforcement Association’s annual Christmas Party Friday night, Sheriff Tony Thompson announced the 2017 Deputy of the Year was Deputy Nicholas Stocks.

Deputy Stocks was recognized for his outstanding involvement in many of the additional duties that deputies perform within the agency. Deputy Stocks is involved in SWAT, the Water Safety Patrol, the Motorcycle Unit, the Honor Guard, and is active as a Field Training Officer for the Jail Division. His direct supervisor called him “Mr. Can Do Everything”, and it is for these observations that he is being recognized as this year’s Deputy of the Year.

According to Sheriff Thompson, “It is always difficult to determine one officer’s impact over another’s, but it is clear that Nick goes above and beyond when it comes to his duties and service to this agency. He is extremely professional, driven, and dedicated to the work that he performs and does it with a calm confidence that speaks volumes to his character and future potential”.

Deputy Stocks is assigned to the 1st shift Jail Division and arrangements can be made for an interview upon request.
