During the Black Hawk County Law Enforcement Association’s Annual Christmas Party, Sheriff Tony Thompson announced the 2014 Deputy of the Year was Deputy Scott Boldt.

Deputy Boldt is currently assigned to the Jail Division but has also worked in the Patrol and Civil Divisions during his tenure with the sheriff’s office. He started his career in 1993 and has also worked part-time for the city of La Porte City as a patrolman.

Deputy Boldt was cited for his leadership, conscientious disposition, and dedication to duty. He covers overtime with short notice and is a mentor to younger officers.
